Check out some nice Prometheus images in this month’s American Cinematographer

Some good quality scans of this month’s American Cinematographer’s Prometheus article have appeared online, showcasing some very nice images, both from the film and behind the scenes.

As expected, the articles discusses a lot of technical detail, and offers a great insight into the challenges of filming 3D, especially on such a visually dark film.

Of particular interest is one image below, showing an earlier version of the mutated Fifield, which was filmed and then presumably abandoned in favour of the more human looking version seen in the final film.

It’ll be interesting to see if footage of this version in included on the DVD/Blu-ray release.

With Prometheus on wide release, and following months of promotion and viral campaigns, you’d think that Fox would have exhausted their gallery of images, but it seems that they still have a few spare, as can be seen in the images below, which appeared on extmovie.com.

Another HUGE Prometheus effects gallery. There are TWO Elder Engineers!

Another Prometheus Engineer gallery has appeared on Facebook, this time courtesy of Creatures Inc Ltd, showing yet more of the makeup and FX custumes that went into the creation of the Engineers.

Of special interest are a few images, like the one below, that show not one, but TWO Elder Engineers appeared in the original version of the opening scenes to the movie. We also get some nice closeups of the Elders’ prosthetics.

A couple of nice, unused graphics from the recent Weyland Industries update

Reader seeasea pointed us in the direction of these two unused images from the recent Weyland Industries website update.

The first is an infographic meant for the ‘Energy’ page, and the other is a Holotab concept intended for use on the ‘Electronics’ page, both by the extremely talented Nick Jones. You can check out more of his work here.

New animated Prometheus character bios appear

A quartet of character bios for David, Shaw, Janek and Vickers have surfaced, with a nice subtle animation effect. It looks like these are due be part of the Discovering Prometheus Facebook app.

More new Prometheus images are online!

As part of the Weyland Industries site update yesterday, several small but interesting images appeared on the site, showing what appear to be colonies and/or industrial plants on Earth-like planets. Those enterprising folks at AvP Galaxy managed to grab them for your viewing pleasure.

In addition, Russian site Kinopoisk have also posted up a few new images. You can see them all below!
