Head over to the WhatIs101112.com viral site to listen to this piece of spooky audio…
I’m guessing this is what you get when you call **WEYLAND, as discussed previously here.
Can any of our US readers confirm?
Thanks to reader Otakon for the tip!
10/10/12
Well, the Bluray is out 1/10/12, so maybe it’ll be back at the cinema, on the 10th, in an extended directors cut version? (here’s hoping!)
Just read on another Prometheus related site, and they think that it’s the sequels release date!!
Personally, I doubt that, would they have an overlap with the release date of the Blu ray a week before and then the Prometheus sequel so soon after it?
I know Scott originally said he was going to make Prometheus a 2 parter, but that idea seem to dissipate very quickly as time ticked closer towards the movie’s release date, so, either it’s true and he shot enough footage for 2 movies a la Peter Jackson and Lord of The Rings, and is just editing it and doing VFX and post production etc… or, and this is what I reckon, they’re going to milk us a bit more with a directors cut run at the cinema to tie in with the Blu ray release, which would make more sense.
I’d love there to be a sequel so soon, but it’s pretty unheard of for a big FX movie to be finished so soon after the last one, the LOTR trilogy had exactly 12 months between each movie….. the plot thickens, again!
I’d be surprised if an extended cut gets a theatrical release. The movie has been a moderate success, but I don’t think the costs involve with prepping and marketing a new release would be justified. My feeling is that an extended cut would be limited to shiny-disc formats
You’re probably right, I’d hate to have to buy it again after pre-ordering the Blu-ray (def not 3D!) and have to shell out another £15 for a directors cut, as much as I want to see an extended version to see if it fleshed out the characters a bit more
I don’t mind a double dip as long as there’s no repetition of extra features. Either release the theatrical cut with all the extras, with a movie-only extended cut, or vice versa
